Computer Scientist, Graduate Student, and Geek

Welcome

Capitol Spring

Hello, I am Aaron Gember. I am in my third year of graduate school in computer science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, working towards my PhD. My research interest is mobile networking, with current projects on mobile application offloading and cellular network measurement. Additionally, I have engaged in research on scalable network monitoring, handheld content access in campus WiFi networks, and embedded systems.

In addition to mobile networking research, I have a strong interest in teaching. I am currently pursuing a PhD minor through the Delta program at UW-Madison, which focuses on teaching pedagogy at the college level. My undergraduate research experiences with Embedded Xinu were heavily focused on enhancing Xinu as a teaching tool for operating systems and networking courses.

When I need a break from being a graduate student, I like to spend my time cooking, model railroading (N scale), decorating for Christmas, and taking photographs.
